Bill and Maggie Anderson bring to the stage a traditional music duet with guitar and dobro – story songs, bluegrass, gospel, and recently written music in the acoustic tradition. Their show is spiced with humor and audience appeal. They have years of experience performing in a variety of venues from festivals, large and small, coffee houses, churches, and Council of the Arts concerts, and have been part of live radio and TV programs. They have taken their music abroad with concerts at the European World of Bluegrass and  a variety of venues in the Netherlands, Switzerland and Nova Scotia. Bill and Maggie have also appeared at the Birthplace of Country Music Pickin Porch in Bristol, VA, at the Carter Fold, and on the PBS broadcasted "Song of the Mountains" at the Lincoln Theater, Marion, VA.  They play regularly at the Blue Ridge Music Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway, WPAQ's Merry-go-Round, WBRF's Blue Ridge Backroads, and WCYN's Bluegrass Ramble radio shows and at the Floyd Country Store.

Their audience base has been steadily growing with exposure from their radio show, their "Song of the Mountain" show on PBS, and the airplay they have been receiving, especially with the release of their latest CD High on a Mountain.  Bill and Maggie have  been a big hit among the locals and visitors as they share music as resident musicians at the Music Center on the Parkway every Wednesday from the middle of May to the end of October.

Bill and Maggie Anderson have six CDs to their credit. They are available through County Sales in Floyd, VA. Comments on their new CD have been very positive with Mark Brinkman saying of their recording of his song "When Heavenly Hills Come Calling for Me" - "You guys nailed it!"  In the November 2010 issue of Bluegrass Unlimited,  Less McIntyre said in his review of High on a Mountain, "For homespun vocals supported by dynamic instrumentation, it would be almost impossible to top the music of Bill and Maggie Anderson."

Going Home to the Fold also got good reviews. "Little in the way of music exceeds the beauty of male/female harmony and Bill and Maggie harmonize to perfection."         June 2007 Bluegrass Now

Morris Rowe, journalist, described their show at the Lincoln Theater, "Maggie and Bill Anderson of Galax, VA all spiffed up, open the show for Tom T. Hall, great conversationalists and entertainers."

Of interest to promoters is that Bill and Maggie can bring to your event a change of pace, and have been used as such by promoters - they have followed national acts on many occasions. MC, Jo Odem (well known "mouth of the south"), calls them "easy listening bluegrass". In addition, Bill can present a "Guitar Care and Repair Seminar" (He’s a certified Martin Warranty repairman) and Maggie can present a "Dobro for Beginners" workshop as well as a "Kids Bluegrass Jam Workshop".
