Vintage Acoustic

Vintage Acoustic is our brand name for the guitars and resophonic guitars Bill builds.  He is currently playing a unique guitar designed by him.  it is modeled after the Martin "M" or "OOOO" with a short scale neck. The "M" is a jumbo pattern with a "OOO" body depth.  The guitar  pictured below is his "M".

Another design he made and has been playing he calls his short-sleeved guitar. It has a dreadnought body, but uses a short scale which places the bridge further down toward the bottom of the guitar.  This give a richer, unique tone.  Three of this design are shown below.  From left to right two made from rosewood with a spruce top and one made from sapele also with a spruce top.

Other examples of what Bill could build for you are below.  First a VA-18-V with a sitka spruce top that has been tap toned and voiced, sapele back and sides, rosewood fingerboard, ebony bridge, forward shifted scalloped braces, bone nut and saddle, abalone rosette, and ivoroid binding    This particular guitar has been sold.

Also sold, below is a VA-18-V with an Adirondack spruce top that has been tap toned and voiced, sapele back and sides, ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge, forward shifted scalloped braces, bone nut and saddle, abalone rosette, and ivoroid binding.  Bill can build another one like this if you'd like.

For his guitars, Bill uses computer carved necks, fingerboards and bridges manufactured by the world's leading acoustic guitar factory.  To these he adds, very selectively chosen tone woods of the highest quality.  Each guitar top has individually scalloped braces and has been tap-toned and voiced for balance and volume.  Sitka spruce is the standard top wood with Engleman and Adirondack spruce available.  Custom inlays of mother-of-pearl or abalone shell are available.   Bill builds guitars using Rosewood, Indian, Hondoran and Brazilian.  Another tonewood he is fond of is Sapele. He has some exceptional Brazilian on hand.

Bill is also putting together basses.  A couple of examples are below.  They are hybrids, with carved tops and laminate sides and backs.
